Title: Designing automatic machines for longitudinal welding/h1>

ABSTRACT/strong>

In this diploma thesis, at the proposal of the company Sigmat doo, the structural elaboration of the existing automatic machine for longitudinal welding was processed, where the elaboration of the automatic machine solution from the beginning of the structural development was presented, a list of requirements was created, the main and partial functions of the automatic machine were analyzed, the most common problems that occur in the longitudinal welding machine, improvements were made, a 3D model of the machine was presented and the necessary calculations were carried out. An industrial analysis of the design of the longitudinal welding machine was carried out.

p>1. INTRODUCTION

Automatic Longitudinal Welding, thesisThe need for welding grows with technological progress, therefore the need for welders also grows, and training and gaining experience to be a good welder can take several years. The whole process of training welders is time-consuming and expensive, paying experienced welders to perform simple longitudinal welds is unprofitable, therefore automatic welding machines were developed. The purpose of the machine is to automate simpler welds with the aim ofsave money, and eliminate mistakes that occur when the welder is tired, thereby eliminating the possibility of human error during welding, and reducing the generation of waste. Figure 1.1 shows an automatic machine for longitudinal welding, this is the existing solution of the company Sigmat doo, and the company plans to develop a new, or improve the existing version of automatic machine for longitudinal welding.

g class="f-left" src="https://www.sigmat.hr/img/cms/strucni-clanci/automat-uzduzno-zavarivanje-3.jpg" alt="" width="404" height= "292" />Figure 1.2 shows the main part of the machine, i.e. the sliding track with the drive of the tungsten electrode holder support. The company Sigmat doo plans to create a new machine for longitudinal welding based on the existing solution for its own needs, because the existing solution is limited to short welds up to 750 mm, and because of the increasing need for welding objects up to 1500 mm long. At the suggestion of the company Sigmat doo, this work deals with the development of automatic machines for longitudinal welding, the usual problems that appear with automatic machines are investigated, and improvements are made with the aim of eliminating them. Therefore, the goal of the work is to develop a solution for an automatic machine for longitudinal welding that will be able to perform welds up to 1500 mm, with the fact that it does not deviate from the existing solutions of individual mechanisms for the reason that they are simple, easy to implement and cheap to manufacture.
