Soft soldering in brief

Soft soldering is joining of metallic materials using molten additional material or solder, the melting point of which is lower than the melting point of the base material being joined, which is below 350 ºC (The melting temperature of lead Pb is 327.46 ºC). On the other hand, brazing joins with a solder temperature higher than 350 - 1000 ºC. The influence of temperature on the base material is smaller than in welding. Process control is very good, and complex structures can be obtained by using multiple solders. It requires less energy than welding, and is suitable for serial production of small components.

2. HARD SOLDERING

Briefly about brazing

Brazing is the joining of metallic materials using a molten additional material or solder, whose melting point is lower than the melting point of the base material which is connected, and is from 350 - 1000 ºC. On the other hand, soft soldering joins with a solder temperature lower than 350 ºC. This procedure is characterized by high tensile strength, and the effect of temperature on the base material is smaller than in welding. Process control is very good, complex structures can be obtained by using multiple solders, and less energy is required than welding. It is possible to connect large surfaces and is suitable for serial production of small-sized components.
