Grinding plates/h1>

According to the appearance and construction, grinding wheels can be: plate, ring, roller, profile, rim, plate-shaped, pot-shaped, spindle-shaped, hollow, grinding wheels on the handle. Shaping of sanding plates is done in moulds. After that, depending on the binder, a further procedure is determined. Grinding plates are used exclusively on tools with drive (electric, battery or pneumatic drive).

All sanding plates basically consist of two materials: sanding grains and bonding material. Abrasives (grits) can be made of natural or artificial materials. Grinding materials must have sufficient toughness and hardness, so that the grain blades are usable as cutting tools and at the same time resistant against frequent breakage during processing. Natural abrasives can be: natural corundum, emery, quartz, diamond.

Bindingand the material binds the grains into one unit. As there are several types of grains, there are also several types of binding materials.>

The hardness of the sanding board depends on the strength of the binder material and is determined as the binder's resistance against the grain falling out.

The structure of the sanding plate is a property that can be different with the same fineness and hardness. This indicates the amount of grains and binders per unit volume of the sanding plate. It is marked with values from 1 to 14. An open structure is a structure with high porosity. A closed structure is one that has the least porosity among the grains.
